Trees for J.J. Kell.

TREES PLANTED

Jenny Biddy from J.J. Kell and Son Funeral Directors, St Arnaud is supporting our native environment by sponsoring the planting of 40 trees. In Donald, the trees were planted at the site of the Donald Field & Game Club. These trees filled the gaps around the native reserve, which in turn provides a pleasant surrounds for monthly meetings. Thank you to Liz Russell for coordinating the planting of these trees and to President Robert Adams for getting the members out there planting.   Huge thank you to Jenny and John Kell for not only supplying the trees but also putting in the necessary funds for tree guards. This is the second year, that Jenny and John have supported Fifteen Trees. Last year, their trees went to St Arnaud Primary School and Donald Primary School. ‘We’re thrilled to team up with Fifteen Trees in this crucial effort. Koalas are an iconic Australian species, and with increasing threats to their natural environment, it’s never been more important to ensure they have access to suitable habitats.Planting these trees is just the beginning of a broader initiative to safeguard their future’. Ballarat Wildlife Park

5,040 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
