Come Planting

TeAm building brings people together by encouraging teamwork.

Fun activities that help people see each other in a different light allow them to connect in different settings. One of the best reasons for team building is that the activities actually work to accomplish improved communication. A successful team building activity, will surely mean a more comfortable, successful workplace environment for any company.

And when you combine team building and volunteer work (such as tree planting) – well – you are ticking all boxes!!

Fifteen Trees have many affiliations with community and environmental groups who would love your assistance to get ‘trees in the ground’. Heading outside to plant trees is a wonderful way to give back to the community, enjoy the ‘great outdoors’ and get your team working together on a common project.

While there is no charge to help organise your tree planting day, we do require a minimum number of 500 trees (@$6.30/tree including GST) to be purchased. Best tree planting sessions run for a either in the morning or afternoon (3 – 4 hours) with a tea break and get-together half way through. If all trees do not get planted on the day, the community group collect the trees and plant them at the same site in the following days or weeks.

If you would like to contribute more by purchasing tree guards, there is an additional cost ($3.35/tree including GST). A tree guard helps protect the new seedling and gives it a protection from grazers, in particular rabbits and kangaroos. Inside the plastic sleeves, a microclimate helps protect them from harsh UV, drifting sand, frost and wind. Once the seedlings survive their first summer, and get the opportunity to develop a strong tap-root, their chances of survival skyrockets. Our community groups do use tree guards to protect the trees. Sometimes, they can reuse ones taken from previous plantings. However, if there is too much damage to the plastic and stakes, they need to purchase new ones. This is where you could step in to assist.

When possible, the team from Fifteen Trees also attends. We planting along side you and the community group and help out with the morning or afternoon tea. We take photos and video for social media (happy to share content). We also bake a very fabulous Persian Love Cake and bring good coffee.

So why is team building important?

 1. Networking and socializing.

Socializing and making friends in the workplace is one of the best ways to increase productivity in the office which in turn increases the morale in the office.

2. Increases team performance.

Team building activities can improve workplace projects that involve teamwork. After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses and interests.

3. Competition and bragging rights.

Competition has been shown to increase production. So, by channeling that increased production into a fun, inclusive team building activity, employees can bond in a way impossible by other means. Which team can plant the most trees in an afternoon?

4. Celebration, fun and motivation.

Celebration and fun that come with every team building event can motivate employees to bring their job to the next level.

5. Fostering innovation and creativity.

People tend to have a larger imagination when they are around people they are comfortable with. So, successful team building events not only bring people closer together but they also lead to more successful and creative workplace ideas.

6. Communication and working better together.

It is no surprise, that communication and working better together is the top reason why people choose team building. Everybody wants a friendly work environment, where people are comfortable and happy to talk to and work with anyone.
