CAVAL annually support our community tree planting projects by purchasing trees for us to distribute to community groups to plant. This year, we planted 90 trees on their behalf at Hindmarsh in South Australia and another 10 at the Kaarakin Cockatoo Conservation Centre in WA.

Tambo Bluff Landcare Coastcare Inc. recently welcomed extra sets of hands to their planting day when the team from G.J. Gardner Homes joined the local Landcare group to help plant native trees and shrubs.

Out in Victoria’s far northwest, where the Murray River floodplains meet the dry mallee scrub, the Millewa/Carwarp Landcare Group are restoring native habitat across one of the state’s most remote and ecologically significant landscapes, thanks to GJ Gardner Homes Mildura.

Every year, the team from Michelin swaps the office for the outdoors and heads out with Fifteen Trees to get their hands dirty for a local community group. It’s become one of those days the team looks forward to – fresh air, good company and the satisfying knowledge that something lasting is being left behind.

Every year we plant native trees for the kind hearted community at Ballarat Central Uniting Church. For this we are very grateful.

Ballarat Indoor Go Karts have signed up for an ongoing commitment of 28 native trees to be planted monthly to represent the 28 go-karts operating in their centre. This is a great example of thinking creatively, when it comes to running a business with a smaller carbon footprint.

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
