National Tree Day and Earth Bottles

TREES PLANTED

Let me introduce Danni Carr and Ash Grunwald (Byron Bay, NSW) and their Eco Award Winning company called  Earth BottlesThis fabulous duo donate a percentage of their bottle sales to community groups for their tree planting projects. Through their company, they also generously support Clean Coast Collective, Beyond Blue and Breast Cancer Network Australia. Fifteen Trees is delighted to be working in association with Danni, Ash and of course the wonderful Briody Scholes (Torquay, Vic). On National Tree Day, in the Baw Baw Shire, 300 trees were planted by Karla Rutherford and her team of volunteers. Of this number, 90 were funded by Earth Bottles.   BLACKLOGO-earthbottles Karla writes …
Please find attached a photo of Baw Baw Shire’s National Tree Day event at Brooker Park, Warragul on Sunday 30th July. Funds from Fifteen Trees were used to continue restoration works along Hazel Creek. In total 1030 plants were installed by community volunteers, 300 of which were supplied by supporters of Fifteen Trees. A combination of trees, shrubs and grasses were installed to replicate the vegetation type that previously occurred at the site. A total of 53 volunteers participated on the day, making a significant contribution to improving the local environment. Massive thank you to Earth Bottles and your support of Fifteen Trees, and in turn … us! Karla Rutherford | Environmental Officer | Baw Baw Shire

‘Sometimes there are really simple things everyone can do to reduce their carbon footprint. When staying at a hotel, choosing to skip the room cleaning and having a tree planted instead, is one of those things’. Hugo from Hotels for Trees.

‘We’re thrilled to team up with Fifteen Trees in this crucial effort. Koalas are an iconic Australian species, and with increasing threats to their natural environment, it’s never been more important to ensure they have access to suitable habitats.Planting these trees is just the beginning of a broader initiative to safeguard their future’. Ballarat Wildlife Park

5,040 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
