Tree support from Angus & Celeste.

TREES PLANTED

Design duo Keir Mac Donald and Asha Cato are based in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. From their studio they make the most beautiful ceramic jewellery, pots and home-wares.  Asha and Keir kick in for 75 trees every quarter and have been doing so since 2012. Check out their website at Angus & Celeste.

This quarter, Angus & Celeste trees were planted at the Morning Peninsula and at Manor Lakes P-12 College.

Engaging the kids.
Thank you for our precious trees (60). Our whole family has enjoyed the process of planting each tree and each of our children took it in turns to help (for the first 10 and then we had to finish off – of course!) Each week we take a walk along each tree and discuss their progress. This is something of a ritual now that we all enjoy. We check how they are going and see if any have been nibbled on by rabbits. There is a diverse range of wildlife  around our property that will inhabit these trees in the future and we are enjoying them grow along side our children. Manor Lake P-12 College at Wyndham Vale (Vic) also received trees (15) due to the generosity of Angus & Celeste. This photo featured in the local paper The Wyndham Star Weekly. ‘Sometimes there are really simple things everyone can do to reduce their carbon footprint. When staying at a hotel, choosing to skip the room cleaning and having a tree planted instead, is one of those things’. Hugo from Hotels for Trees.

‘We’re thrilled to team up with Fifteen Trees in this crucial effort. Koalas are an iconic Australian species, and with increasing threats to their natural environment, it’s never been more important to ensure they have access to suitable habitats.Planting these trees is just the beginning of a broader initiative to safeguard their future’. 5,040 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
