Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has now helped plant over 44,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone, the relationship between GJG and Fifteen Trees, will see over 11,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
Rohan Smith and Paul Delgallo, co-directors from G. J. Gardner Homes Geelong are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, the duo purchased 1350 trees for the Bellarine Peninsula. The trees were shared across 3 peninsula sites: the Bellarine Rail Trial (300), the Narrows, Queenscliff (650) and Bonnyvale Wetland, Ocean Grove (400).
“The Bellarine Rail Trail Fellows Rd Revegetation and Environment day was recently held. Soaking rain the night before proved the perfect preparation for soft soil for planting. The Queenscliffe Community Indigenous Nursery once again provided wonderfully grown tubestock representing Coastal Saltmarsh species. Three hundred indigenous tubestock were revegetated along the Bellarine Rail Trail from community groups inc Swan Bay Environment Association, Friends of the Bellarine Rail Trail and Bellarine Catchment Network. G.J. Gardner Homes supported the event through tubestock, guards and stakes and lunchtime BBQ. The site continues to transform from woody and grassy weed species to indigenous plant cover and forms part of the City of Greater Geelong Greening the Songline, from the Mountain to Mouth Extreme Arts Walk.”

“The Star of the Sea Bonnyvale Wetlands Environment day was once again held on the 27th July 2018. Spring-like conditions greeted the 40 Star of the Sea students for their activities. Deirdre Murphy from Coranagamite CMA conducted the Waterwatch activity, while Lachlan Forbes and Matt Crawley from the Bellarine Catchment Network conducted a revegetation activity, flora and fauna interpretations. Each student also received an Ocean Grove Environment Booklet reinforcing the learning outcomes of the day.
