Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant 1000’s of trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 7,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
Ashley and Sally Heard from G. J. Gardner Homes Ararat are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, Ashley and Sally purchased 390 trees for Penny Hartwich from the Upper Hopkins Land Management Group.
It was great to receive the trees. In time it will help sure up the gully and further establish the native habitat corridor on the property.
We fenced, ripped and sprayed the area, and used the Landmate crew to plant and guard the trees. The Landmate crew are a prison group who do environmental and community work, under the guidance of Project Platypus.
Looking at the trees today they are shooting away nicely, great to see they have found their roots in a drier than usual season.
Thank you once again for organising this generous donation, its future benefits are greatly appreciated.
Penny and Russell Hartwich
