Lake Boga and District Landcare Group are a fantastic team who are doing great things for their local environment. Recently they planted 50 trees at Bate’s Bush on the behalf of Taverna Funerals. There was a massive amount of work to be done before the trees could be planted. They had to remove gorse and other nasty introduced species, set up a drip system and determine what species would be best planted. Tricia Pollard (secretary of the group) was delighted to have received the trees.

Lorraine Taverna wanted these trees planted on the behalf of the families who entrust their loved ones into her care. A family run company, Taverna Funerals has been in Swan Hill for many years (sometimes operating under different names). When I first approached Lorraine to see if she was willing to support her community through tree planting, she was very enthusiastic and is to be commended for her leadership and willingness to contribute.

WPA acknowledges that when it comes to environmental initiatives, its people are its strength. It has recently partnered with us to plant 15 trees for each hard-working staff member identified as a Sustainability Warrior.
Tasman Cottage already gives you a chance to reconnect with nature, yet its manager Nick has taken an important next step. He recently purchased 150 trees in collaboration with us here at Fifteen Trees, an action which ensures vital habitat for our native fauna, such as the unique Tassie Devil.
