Zoë Geyer of ZGA STUDIO architecturally designs stunning spaces guided by a strong sustainability moral compass. Thanks to Zoë, 100 trees have been planted at the 600-acre Sunnybank Farm in Burrumbeet (20 mins from the edge of Ballarat), to accompany the regenerative farming philosophy landowners Jasmine & James practice on the land.
ZGA STUDIO is innovative, functional architecture: a design-intensive studio specialising in distinctive residential projects led by Architect Zoë Geyer. Since 2009, Zoë Geyer has been inspired by clever design. Her use of natural light, texture, and refining simplicity with a touch of playfulness is at the root of her work. Whether it is designing contemporary, classic or heritage listed properties, Zoë is a highly innovative architect.
Amongst the native trees planted into the rich organic soils at Sunnybank Farm are Drooping Sheoak, Wirilda, Silver & Black Wattles, Wooly Tea-tree, and the Rough-Barked Honey Myrtle to name a few.
“We are striving for a world where humans are connected to their food and the benefits that are to be had from sustainable, local and humane food production.
One of our key goals is to have 100 different species of trees on the property. Providing habitat, food and shelter for animals and insects alike. Biodiversity across all species of plants is incredibly beneficial for not just the soil and the animals, but also the quality of food produced off the land.
These trees have helped us move towards a healthier landscape where we can produce healthier food in harmony with nature.”
