Planting trees … simple as!

When you’re a reputable business with a loyal and growing clientele you tend to move around the region a bit. Waldron Heating, Cooling and Hot Water currently maintains a fleet of nine vehicles. To reduce the carbon footprint involved in driving back and forth between jobs, Karl and Melanie Waldron have partnered with Fifteen Trees to plant trees.

Waldron Heating, Cooling and Hot Water has been heating, cooling, and watering the good people of Ballarat and districts for over thirty years. In recent times, Karl Waldron and his team have also been installing solar systems. They’re in the wholesome business of keeping us comfortable and providing options when it comes to our environmental impact.

We plant 15 per year for every car they keeps on the road – 135 trees in 2020.

Fifteen Trees organised the trees to be planted at Sutherland, VIC, just north of St Arnaud with the Buloke and Nth Grampians Landcare Network. Hayley and Luke Batters are keen to develop some of their land for biodiversity and soil improvement. And so turning hillside scour into a series of frog ponds, with assistance from family, friends and Landcare, 135 native species seedlings were planted.  Primarily Box, Gum, Buloke and Wattles, the trees will assist with storing carbon in the soil, prevent erosion, assist with water retention within the soil and help native species (like the Powerful Owl) through biodiversity linkages.

Planting fifteen trees per vehicle is a simple and effective way to increase corporate environmental awareness and responsibility. It also makes a real difference on the ground. Revegetation projects tend to rely on a number of sponsors to get trees in the ground. The more individual businesses that pledge to plant, the more likely the project is to grow into a resilient self-sustaining eco-system.

We’re very happy to have Waldron Heating, Cooling and Hot Water on board. Long may the business grow and thrive, just like the trees planted on its behalf.

300 TREES PLANTED

April 29, 2026
There’s something quietly powerful about a person who decides, on their own, to do something good for the planet. No fanfare, no corporate mandate – just a simple choice to put a few trees in the ground. When hundreds of individuals make that same choice, something remarkable happens. Native forests are restored, wildlife corridors are rebuilt, and community groups across Australia get to do the work they love. So if you’ve ever purchased trees through Fifteen Trees, thank you.

We have a handful of organisations and small companies, who purchase trees when they can. These people are masters of ingenuity when it comes to incorporating tree planting into their business practices.
