Trees in the Eastern Mallee.

TREES PLANTED

We have to thank quite a number of people who have made this planting project up in the Mallee a reality. Firstly, Sandii Lewis from the Eastern Mallee Consortium for sourcing the site and the trees and then getting the 390 trees planted. Secondly, all the following people (and companies) who have chipped in to purchase the trees. Kimbra & Simon (15 trees), Brooke Vogt (15 trees), Sandra Hawkins (15 trees), Talina from Talina Ewards Architecture (45 trees), Annabel from Blossom Wellbeing (15 trees), Ben from High Tech Printing (30trees), Sarah from Banksia Communications (30 trees), Jon Yeo from TEDx Melbourne (15 trees) Chaudius Stanislaus (30 trees) and Iris Duhn (25 trees).
Well, it took a bit longer after that long hot summer, but FINALLY the trees have been planted !! We planted them at the Chisholm Reserve Sporting Complex in Swan Hill. The Complex have put in a new watering system in place for the trees, so they will be well looked after with automatic watering. The Complex were extremely grateful to receive the trees. They were planted at various locations around the Go Kart Club and in the surrounding areas. Sandii Lewis | Local Landcare Facilitator | Eastern Mallee Consortium
Some of the trees have been gifted by Fifteen Trees as thank yous. So thank you to Moira Finucane ‘Beauty Queen of the Damned‘ (15 trees) who produces the most fantastic electric shows, including her most recent Diva Dive in Fitzroy. Thank you to Monica Dux from The Age (50 trees) for the beautiful articles she writes to bring people’s awareness to living more sustainability. The 50 trees are to cover the carbon footprint of Monica’s flights to Europe. And finally 40 trees on the behalf of those who bought a Fifteen Trees keep-cup (supplied by the fabulous Earth Bottles) last year.     All up 390 trees! A huge contribution from a dozen people who collectively have made a huge difference to the community of Swan Hill. Slàinte – Colleen

Individual actions really do matter! Individually we can really only make small differences to the world around us, but collectively our numbers add up. And if enough individuals are involved then forests can be grown!
