Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant 1000’s of trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 8,500 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups.
Michael Ellett from G. J. Gardner Homes East Gippsland in Bairnsdale is a generous supporter of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, Michael has purchased 360 trees the Gippsland Plains Conservation Management Network (GPCMN). The trees were planted at Bengworden Reserve on the 15th of October.

It was a fun planting day with GJ. Gardner. They were very dedicated workers who enjoyed the outdoors and planting trees. This is the second year or planting with GJ.Gardener Homes. I look forward to the next year. In attendance were 6 GJG members. We planted 450 Cassarinas , Sweet Bursaria and Black Wattles over a 1 acre area. It took the crew 2 hours to get the trees in the ground. The planting will be follow-up with guards and stakes.

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
