Trees as Gifts.

TREES PLANTED

Coming up to Christmas, I’ve had a few people buy trees as gifts to give this festive season.  These ‘gift trees’ (60) have all been planted in one location at Heathcote, Victoria.

Heide Hackworth from Earth Greetings bought 15 trees each for her sales reps. Robert Wilhelm, Stacey Mulcahy and Thalia Whetstone are now driving greener cars as their carbon emissions are being collected by the 45 trees Heide has planted on their behalf.

Liz Crawford bought a tree for all her nephews – Bruce, Cameron, Lachlan, Andrew, William and Edward, (a lot of boys sitting up there on the Crawford family tree) as well as a KK gift to A Beautiful Person.

Desiree Lucchese bought a tree for Lily, a tree for Hugh and 3 trees for Sr Ken Watson.

Jeremy and the team at Finder.com.au bought a tree as a thank you to Bina Brown for her support of their company.

I finally I bought a tree for Anna Brennan from The Button Empire for … well just for being so lovely, and another for Michelle Simmonds from Agent 99PR company in Sydney.

All up – 60 trees going out as gifts for family members, acquaintances and colleagues.

Hi Colleen,

I was fortunate to receive 60 free trees through your organisation.  I have attached a photo of the trees which are all protected by tree surrounds.   The trees are indigenous to the area and should tolerate the dry conditions well.  These trees will be providing a great natural habitat for the local native birds and animals.  I look forward to sending you another photo to show their progress.

Kind Regards – Dene Alban

Thank you to Heide, Liz, Jeremy, Michelle and Desiree for your support of our native environment and buying a  gift that never needs to be dusted, never goes out of style or loses its sheen after a couple of months.

Slainte – Colleen

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
