Last month, 300 trees went to four locations across Victoria on the behalf of 2 companies – Integra and MacNeil. Both Ballarat based property and development companies have supported our tree planting efforts to the tune of 150 trees each. Thank you to company directors, Andre Agterhuis from Integra Group and Paul McCuskey from Macneil Group.
Starting in Ballarat, Emmaus Catholic School at Mount Clear planted 105 trees on their school grounds.

The students came dressed in their ‘tree planting clothes’ and gumboots, all extremely enthusiastic about the day! It was wonderful that each of the 105 children were all able to plant their own tree. They eagerly learnt about how to plant and care for their tree. It was beautiful to see the care they took and their enjoyment.
Towards Bendigo at Goornonut, 60 trees were planted by Daniel and Julie-Ann Manson, while at Clear Wind near Kyneton, another 60 trees were planted by Clare Claydon.

The site is underneath a beautiful stately yellow box (that didn’t survive the fires). You can see in the background that lots of eucs are coming around the skeleton of the old tree and the newly planted understorey will help to keep those eucs healthy for the next 400 years or so!
Over towards the western edge of the state near Horsham, Wendy McInnes from the Laharum Landcare group planted out 90 trees. We had to give them a little drink on planting which should set them up. There is already a cocktail of native seed in the rip row where we planted these ninety. Thank you. I will give you an update in a year or so. Wendy
Great overall effort from all four groups across the state to plant these 300 trees. And of course to Andre and Paul – a warm thank you. Two men with 50 shades of green!
Slainte – Colleen
