Pana Barbounis, founder of Pana Chocolate,  has generously donated 9,600 trees to Fifteen Trees for distribution to community groups in Victoria and NSW. This Kinglake planting site is one of 6 areas to receive these trees. Other areas include University of Newcastle, Flowerdale, Ballina, Brisbane Ranges and Botany Bay National Park. The one thousand trees were planted at 5 sites in the Kinglake District,  including a childcare centre (100 trees), a scout hall (100) and 3 Landcare member’s properties at Harper (500), Hubbard (250) and Spagnoli (50). Hi Colleen, Photo (below) is of our tree planting volunteers at the Kinglake Ranges Childcare Centre. We planted 100 trees funded by Pana Chocolate. Once established the trees will provide a well needed windbreak and nature play area for the children. Thank you very much Pana for the plants you were able to fund this year. These groups periodically travel up to the Murrindindi Shire to work with local landcare with their re-vegetation efforts.
