Planting trees on the other side of the world.

What do you do when you want to plant trees for the earth in a big way, but you don’t have the physical space to do it, and you can’t find the right partner to help you out? You form your own partner, and you broaden your horizons. This is exactly what Oblong Ltd, a data processing business based in the UK, has done.

What do you do when you want to plant trees for the earth in a big way, but you don’t have the physical space to do it, and you can’t find the right partner to help you out? You form your own partner, and you broaden your horizons. This is exactly what Oblong Ltd, a data processing business based in the UK, has done.

When Oblong looked into offsetting their own emissions, they found the process overly complicated and lacking in integrity. So they developed Oblong Trees, a company that streamlines offsetting, doesn’t get to bogged down in precise calculations, and makes a tangible difference. Importantly, Oblong Trees recognises that there is limited space in the UK, and that trees planted on the other side of the world are just as vital for combatting climate change as any in your own backyard.

Fifteen Trees is proud to be Oblong Trees’ Australian planting partner. Over the next forty years, Oblong Trees expects to sequester over 280 million cubic feet of CO2. A small portion of that majestic figure – 300 indigenous trees worth – has just been realised at the You Yangs in Southern Victoria, AUS.

As well as cushioning the environmental impact of human activity in the broadest possible sense, Oblong Trees is also providing habitat for koalas and helping to fortify their supporting eco-system for the challenges ahead. Koalas love River Red Gums, Coast Manna, Yellow Gums and Red Ironbark and these are the trees that have been planted in this district.

Our climate needs big, global thinkers right now, with big, global goals. Oblong Trees is right there with the zeitgeist, and we are right there with them. Thank you to Dan Whiteman, managing director at Oblong UK Ltd for initiating this partnership and entrusting Fifteen Trees to be your Australian planters.

390 TREES PLANTED

July 3, 2025
Ballarat Indoor Go Karts have signed up for an ongoing commitment of 28 native trees to be planted monthly to represent the 28 go-karts operating in their centre. This is a great example of thinking creatively, when it comes to running a business with a smaller carbon footprint.
