Simon Furness from Pipers Creek Landcare planted 120 trees to help revegetate the native bushland around his property. The Ballarat Permaculture Society planted 60 of Peter’s trees as too did the Donald Golf Club.
Chrissie Prescott, organised a tree planting party as birthday surprise for her husband. She writes …
Hi Colleen,
Our tree planting was a great success. I managed to keep it a secret from my husband until his birthday and there was much plotting and planning and fencing that went on in preparation for it. It was great fun to firstly reveal the 60 trees, he was then under instructions to meet me at 10am for a walk and we went and collected my neighbour who very kindly donated his time to put the 65m fence up for us. My husband was expecting to find a pile of fencing materials that he would have to put up. Instead he found a completed fence, with a bow on it, and tree holes dug and ready to go!
On the Sunday that followed I had organised a surprise tree planting party and we were graced with beautiful weather! We had friends and family and dogs along to help and the kids especially had a ball planting the variety of natives we had chosen. We mulched and watered and felt exceptionally satisfied! It has been a dream come true to plant these trees and is something that we definitely couldn’t have achieved without the help of Fifteen Trees and our friends and family, so all round a very feel good day and the best birthday ever for my husband (his words!). Thanks again and thank you also Kings Cars who support Fifteen Trees. Chrissie :-)
That leaves 75 trees (from the 375). These trees were planted by Julia Stockigt and Ray Aspinall at Bittern. These trees have been planted to help the native wildlife (in particular small ground creatures) find suitable habitat to live.
A huge thank you Peter and the team at Peter King Cars. Your continued support is making a huge impact on many of our local properties.
