TREES PLANTED

Peter King, from Kings Cars has been a long time supporter of Fifteen Trees. Over the years, he has helped to fund the planting of well over 1500 trees. For every new Citroen and Mitsubishi Peter sells, he has 15 trees planted. Towards the end of 2012, another 200 trees were planted in the Kinglake district of Victoria on the behalf of all the new Citroen and Mitsubishi drivers in the Ballarat district.

People power was supplied by the ANZ.
Chris Cobern, from the Upper Goulburn Landcare Network organised the tree planting day, the trees were propagated by Steve and Heather from their Flowerdale nursery and volunteers from the ANZ came out and planted. A whole host of agencies and companies have come together to help support the re-vegetation of this beautiful region. It holds a special place in all our hearts. According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
