TREES PLANTED

It has been a long long wet winter … great for ducks … and tree planting!

As a result of all this rain, many planting groups have extended their tree planting season. Normally by this time of the year, tools have been stored away and tree seedlings put to bed. Usually, not much in the way of planting come October. Up in the highlands of Central Victoria, Chris Cobern and his band of merry tree planters have taken advantage of the extended season and are still out planting.   [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]

The Upper Goulburn Landcare Networks re-vegetation ‘Lorax Project’ has finished for another year after a very successful year of tree planting throughout the Murrindindi Shire. Funding was provided by the State Governments Communities For Nature grant and we also had welcome support again from Fifteen Trees who were able to provide funds to purchase some plants for our project. Chris Cobern | Coordinator | Kinglake Landcare
The 130 trees have been generously paid for by a number of individuals. Thank you to JENNY & PAUL HARTMANN (Blue Mountains Eco Tours) for your donation of 30 trees, thank you to HELEN PRITCHARD for 15 trees and CLAIRE COULSON for 70 trees. Claire has taken 70 hours of flights and wanted to reduce her carbon emissions of her trip/s. Roughly …  for every 1 hour in the air – 1 tree needs to be planted.   And finally 15 trees have been planted as a thank you to TALINA EDWARDS (Talina Edwards Architecture) for coming along to ACU to talk to aspiring primary school teachers about sustainable housing.   Very generous individuals. Huge thank you to you all.   Slàinte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
