TREES PLANTED

Hi Colleen We finally got out into the paddocks on Sunday to plant our 60 “fifteen trees”.  A day of planting trees and hearing about carbon tax and renewable energy – a good day it was!  My two sons, Hamish and Morgan, helped me plant the 60 trees to widen our wildlife corridors and the various habitat nodes we have along these corridors.  We planted species that were once found in these woodlands and hope that in the near future they will provide habitat for our local fauna.  We also planted some sheoaks and Melaleucas as wildlife habitat around the perimeter of our house and garden fence.  Thanks Fifteen Trees – every little bit helps to contribute towards improving habitat on our rural property and maybe with a bit of luck, the declining Diamond Firetail will return. Regards Felicity.
Thanks indeed to the two ‘green’ companies who decided to put some money into supporting the planting of trees rural Victoria. Pip from Partycles and Brett from Davis Planning both carbon offset their work cars to enable 60 trees to be planted at Goornang (near Bendigo).  Lets hope the Diamond Firetail makes a come back – Pip and Brett I think this bird could become your mascot!
Keep warm everyone – Colleen

1100 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.

For hotels, embracing sustainability can strengthen brand loyalty, enhance their reputation, and help differentiate them in a competitive market. In this way, sustainable initiatives are not just good for the planet – they also make strong business sense, creating a win-win for hotels, their guests, and the communities and ecosystems they support.

300 TREES PLANTED

April 29, 2026
There’s something quietly powerful about a person who decides, on their own, to do something good for the planet. No fanfare, no corporate mandate – just a simple choice to put a few trees in the ground. When hundreds of individuals make that same choice, something remarkable happens. Native forests are restored, wildlife corridors are rebuilt, and community groups across Australia get to do the work they love. So if you’ve ever purchased trees through Fifteen Trees, thank you.
