Trees providing habitat for our native wildlife.

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has now helped plant over 44,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone the project will see over 11, 000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups. Adam Gregor and Tristan Bullock from G. J. Gardner Homes Wodonga are generous supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, the Wodonga team purchased 870 trees for Anne Stelling and the Wodonga Urban Landcare Network. The trees were planted across 2 sites – Leneva and Middle Creek.
Louise and Anne at Leneva.

We planted 480 trees on Sunday 26th August at Ken & Louise Brewer’s property in Leneva. Eight members of the Leneva Castle Creek Landcare Group attended on a cold but clear day. The planting was challenging in parts on steep banks, much needed to help prevent further erosion on the banks of Middle Creek. A further 400 trees were planted adjoining this area, downstream on Middle Creek into a 7 hectare regeneration block on the property of David Saxton and Nicole Stevens. This planting will provide habitat and further slow water movement to assist in the control of erosion in the valley. Many thanks to Fifteen Trees and GJ Gardner Homes for your generous support. Now that is a steep site. Ken Brewer.
Massive thank you to Adam and Tristan for the 870 trees and also to Anne and her team for finding 2 wonderful sites for our trees.   Giving back and showing an interest in the local community is something GJG takes seriously. Though out Victoria and Tasmania, and facilitated by Fifteen Trees, GJG purchases trees for over 40 community groups.   This is CSR (corporate social responsibility) in a nutshell.   Sláinte – Colleen

Quality People and Training Solutions (QPTS) are always looking for ways in which they can care for people. As well as ways to care for the planet.

2100 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in. (Feature image from Mt Worth Landcare).

Individual actions really do matter! Individually we can really only make small differences to the world around us, but collectively our numbers add up. And if enough individuals are involved then forests can be grown!
