G.J. Gardner Trees at Wangoom

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has now helped plant over 44,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year alone the project will see over 11, 000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups. Andrew Womersley from G. J. Gardner Homes Warrnambool is generous supporter of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, the Warrnambool team purchased 375 trees for Jane O’Beirne and the Hopkins Falls Landcare Group. The trees were planted on National Tree Day.

Love those bunny knees!

Tree Planting Day at the Hopkins Falls was held on Sunday, 29thJuly at Wangoom in Southwest Victoria in conjunction with National Tree Day. We had 22 volunteers coming together to help plant around 450 trees/grasses with focus on the areas near the main viewing platform and a side hill on track to bottom of Falls.  Many thanks to all those that come along in wet  & windy conditions. We all enjoyed a BBQ afterwards, so a very successful day. Also big thank-you to GJ Gardner Homes for their donation of  375 trees for the day.   Big shout out to G.J. Gardner Homes for their continued support of our native environment. Over 30 community groups across Victoria and Tasmania are delighted to have access to locally grown trees for their tree planting projects. With maintenance and care from the local community over the summer months those trees will thrive. Investing in your community is a great way to give back to those who have helped support your business. Volunteer groups and non-profit organizations do so much to help the communities that all of us are a part of, but they can’t do it alone. If you are in business, now is a great time to contact us to find out more. We are right in the middle of tree planting season …  your trees could very well be planted by the end of the month. 1100 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.

For hotels, embracing sustainability can strengthen brand loyalty, enhance their reputation, and help differentiate them in a competitive market. In this way, sustainable initiatives are not just good for the planet – they also make strong business sense, creating a win-win for hotels, their guests, and the communities and ecosystems they support.

300 TREES PLANTED

April 29, 2026
There’s something quietly powerful about a person who decides, on their own, to do something good for the planet. No fanfare, no corporate mandate – just a simple choice to put a few trees in the ground. When hundreds of individuals make that same choice, something remarkable happens. Native forests are restored, wildlife corridors are rebuilt, and community groups across Australia get to do the work they love. So if you’ve ever purchased trees through Fifteen Trees, thank you.
