Trees at Hazel Creek, Baw Baw.

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant 30,000 trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 8,500 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups. GJGLogo_NO-TAG_WHITE_BG_lrg Josh Tyrrell from G. J. Gardner Homes Warragul is a generous supporter of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, Josh has purchased 75 trees for Karla Rutherford and her regional landcare group. These trees went to Brooker Park in the Baw Baw Shire and were planted on National Tree Day.   [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]

Karla writes … Please find attached some photos of Baw Baw shire’s National Tree Day event at Brooker Park, Warragul on Sunday 30th July. Funds from G.J. Gardner Homes Warragul were used to continue restoration works along Hazel Creek. In total 1030 plants were installed by community volunteers, of which 75 trees were supplied by GJG. A combination of trees, shrubs and grasses were installed to replicate the vegetation type that previously occurred at the site. A total of 53 volunteers participated on the day, making a significant contribution to improving the local environment. Karla Rutherford | Environmental Officer | Baw Baw Shire

We have a handful of organisations and small companies, who purchase trees when they can. These people are masters of ingenuity when it comes to incorporating tree planting into their business practices.

The Kogi people of Northern Columbia have been sending the same message to the West for years. It’s a familiar refrain here at Fifteen Trees, and one we wholeheartedly endorse: ‘Unless we stop violating the Earth and nature, depleting the Great Mother of her material energy, her organs, her vitality; unless people stop working against the Great Mother, the world will not last.’
