‘Thanks to the initiative of the Fifteen Trees program Coastal Dry Tropics Landcare Inc (CDTLI) with GJ Gardiner homes, and over 30 volunteers from the surrounding community were able to plant 225 local provenance species at Goondaloo Creek. This area is a very important corridor for many native fish, some of which are endangered who move up stream to breed.
To celebrate National Tree Day 2014, students from Innisfail State College planted out trees along the banks of the Johnstone River adjacent to their school. Of the hundreds of trees planted, 225 were donated by Jean and Graham. This planting compliments a series of plantings that started almost 20 years ago!
