Slàinte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]On a recent fine and sunny Sunday, the Kinglake Landcare Group hosted a very successful National Tree Day event at the Stony Creek Reserve and adjoining significant roadside area. Eighteen people attended and planted 180 plants including 40 of the rare Round-leaf Pomaderris. The planting was undertaken to improve the habitat for wildlife in an area of the reserve that was previously overrun with Blackberry and other weeds.
The Stony Creek Reserve is a small but important reserve. The dense and ferny understorey, many fallen hollow logs and large old trees provide ideal habitat for many native animals including the rare Brush-tailed Phascogale, Long-nosed Bandicoots and the native Bush Rat.
Thank you very much to Fifteen Trees and GJ Gardner Homes for their support.

Fifteen Trees acknowledges Indigenous Australians as the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, live and play.
We recognise that Indigenous Australians have cared for and lived in harmony with this land for millennia, and their knowledge and wisdom of the land endures.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and stand in solidarity as Indigenous Australians seek a fairer and more sustainable future for the land and its people.
