Tatyoon Reserve (Vic).

On Tuesday 29th July at Tatyoon Recreational Reserve (Ararat) a community planting day took place in which 390 native trees were planted. These trees were replacing the old pine trees that were well past their ‘use by dates’. Kids from Maroona Primary School attended along with Sally and Ashley Heard from G.J Gardner Homes Ararat. Sally and Ashley very kindly donated the funds to enable the Upper Hopkins Landcare Group (UHLG) to source the trees (from local nursery Manna Gums). Una Allender from the UHLG writes .. ‘conditions were perfect on the day, rain fell a few days later, so the young trees had a great start to life‘. ‘We feel very grateful, thankful and quite overwhelmed when we think about the contributions of all of the people involved. The project would not have happened without the support from sponsors of Fifteen Trees and such sterling efforts from Landcare and all the volunteers’. Kinglake Landcare.
