Dear Colleen and GJG, Thank you for your support of 2 tree planting programs this year – Mothers’ Day and National Tree Day. We had a great turn out on both days. Our Mothers’ Day event had 32 adults and 11 children as well as the team from G.J. Gardner. Some family groups consisted on brand-new mums planting trees with their bubs for the first time. Other family groups consisted of mums with their teenage or adult children and some groups came along to plant trees in honour of mums that are no longer with us. Everyone who came along on Mothers’ Day said they were very grateful for the opportunity to do something so lovely together. We held another incredibly successful National Tree Day event at the Bendigo Creek Streamside Reserve, Huntly, on Sunday July 29th and were overwhelmed with 70 participants, lots of them young families. In just over two hours, all 600 of the plants were in, guarded and watered. There was a great vibe on the day with lots of people commenting on how good it felt to get to know the Bendigo Creek in a new light and contribute directly to increasing the width of the riparian corridor. The weather held off for us and we were graced with overhead visits of soaring Wedge-Tailed Eagles, Glossy Ibis and Pelicans ! Nicole Howie | Secretary | Northern Bendigo Landcare GroupMassive thank you to Danny, Kris and the G.J. Gardner team at Bendigo. Both community events would not have been possible without your generous support. Sláinte – Colleen
