Planting Trees for G.J. Gardner Point Cook.

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has helped plant 1000’s of trees across Victoria and Tasmania. For every new home built, Fifteen Trees organises the planting of 15 trees in the local district. This year, the project will see over 7,000 trees planted by schools, landcare and various environmental groups. GJGLogo_NO-TAG_WHITE_BG_lrgSimon Spiteri from G.J Gardner Homes Point Cook is a generous supporter of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, Michael purchased 90 trees for a project at Werribee Park (Vic). Colleen Miller from Western Melbourne Catchment Network organised the site, choose and collected the plants from GAGIN (Greybox & Grasslands Indigenous Nursery) and then early September went out and planted with a handful of volunteers. As you can see from the photo above, these trees have been really well protected. No grazing kangaroos will be feeding on these plants. Thank you Simon for your support. These trees will help re-vegetate the bank of the Werribee River that runs through Werribee Park. Slainte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

This year, we planted Simon’s trees at Westgate Park in Port Melbourne with the team from Westgate Biodiversity, a not-for-profit organisation located at the base of one of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks and busiest gateways to the city.

4480 TREES PLANTED

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
