TREES PLANTED

Hi Colleen, We had a great day at Ross Creek on Friday. There were about 60 children involved during the day and we planted out 200 trees. It was pleasant weather and we want to thank Simon Mulqueen for the lovely plants. The reserve is looking really good with the last couple of years of extra plantings. Cheers Rosemary (Ross Creek Landcare President). IMG_2634 Simon Mulqueen from F.W Barnes & Sons Funerals have been supporting our local environment in both Ballarat and Bendigo by providing trees. Simon plants one tree for every funeral service. There is no charge to the families, he does this as a community kindness. Over the years, Simon has provided over 800 trees (and tree guards) to community groups such as Learmonth Community Gardens, Ross Creek Landcare, Ballarat Environmental Network (BEN) and Huntly Pound Landcare Group. Huge thank you Simon for your contribution. Slainte – Colleen

Most of us fly into Tasmania. And millions of us do it for the sole purpose of basking in its unique natural wonders and breathing in some of the clearest air in the world. It’s satisfying to think that one of its primary gatekeepers, Hobart Airport, is doing its bit to make Tasmania just that bit greener.
