The friends group behind the park Westgate Biodiversity have been working on a re-vegetation program at the park for the past 18 years. Annually they plant around 20,000 trees. As these trees grow, the biodiversity of the area is improving. It is becoming a popular place for people and for the birds and animals that choose to make the park their home.
Tony Flude helped us plant these trees on National Tree Day (Sunday July 29th). The Ballarat scouts joined in, along with friends and family of Fifteen Trees. On the day we planted over 400 trees of which 50 generously came from Damien.
Hi Colleen, What a great day Sunday turned out to be – great weather for this time of the year and a MAGNIFICENT TURNOUT OF FRIENDS of FIFTEEN TREES! Today we watered the plants in and collected the pots – total 460 plants in the ground. We have another big group tomorrow so we should get in the remaining plants then. Thank you so much for your on-going support of our group. Tony Flude | President | Westgate Biodiversity
