Hi Colleen, Our students have been doing work on their CPDA (Christian Personal Development) which involves them in work for the community. In this case, a group of students spent the day down the back of the College, improving the natural environment. It was fairly easy to find space for the planting of 30 seedlings amongst the existing trees.
As you can see from the photo, there are still a lot of radiata pine seedlings, along with other weeds like gorse and ivy, growing wild on the hillside. So beyond planting, the group this time did quite a bit of hacking and sawing. There is lots more to do, but we hope that over time we will have a more bio-diverse hillside. Regards David Neate (Sustainability Officer).

I gave a talk this week to Rotary on sustainability and when I heard that 30 members regularly turn up for the breakfast meeting, I decided to have a tree planted for each member. Rotary – a great community minded and pro-active organisation. Slainte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]Restoring Australian ecosystems.
