Towards the end of last year the little primary school at Creswick North were the happy recipients of 10 mature trees donated by Maree and Brian Harrison of Harrison Funerals Ballarat. The trees were planted by the students themselves but under the supervision of their teachers Local families volunteered to water and maintain the trees over the long summer holidays. Principal Darren Mooney, was delighted to be able to improve the biodiversity of his school grounds as well as provide shade for his students in years to come.
Since September 2010, Maree and Brian Harrison have supported local community groups by supplying trees. Through their generosity over 60 trees have been planted at places such as Ballarat Art Studio, Garibaldi Community Hall, Durham Lead and EarthEd in Mt Clear.
We are gearing up for a busy autumn with lots of groups out there planting.
