To date that pledge has seen 105 trees planted out on behalf of Matthew from Buxton Real Estate Ballarat via Fifteen Trees and local tree planting groups local to his township Ballarat, for seven clients who have bought their new homes through Matt and his team.
Matthew has been a real estate agent for over thirty-four years, and over that time has assisted many clients to buy their dream properties. He is an active community member in other arenas such as food security, and he takes his commitment to the environment very personally.
The trees were planted in the Ballarat district of Ross Creek by Ross Creek Landcare. This area is home to many birds of prey such as the Powerful Owl (top L), the Black Kite (top R), the Nankeen Kestrel (bottom L) and the Grey Goshawk (bottom R). All these predatory birds will benefit from the recent planting at these sites. These native trees, shrubs and grasses will attract insects and small mammals that will become a food source for these mighty birds.
Thanks to Matthew, the local Ballarat region will enjoy a greener canopy. The trees plus indigenous grasses and shrubs will enable a more ecological environment and will add to the town’s sustainability.
