TREES PLANTED

Students from Innisfail State College (Queensland) were busy last month when they planted out 1000 trees along the banks of the Johnstone River adjacent to their school. The school Agriculture and Horticulture students are intending to use these trees as a source of seeds (to be grown in their newly-established nursery). The students were assisted by the Johnstone Region Landcare Group. 2014-07-28 12.16.57 Three hundred of these trees were kindly donated by an amazing group of women from The Brigidine Order. Sr Anne Hill is the ‘mover and shaker’ of this group when it comes to supporting our native environment. I regularly meet up with Anne every year at the Sustainable Living Festival. Thank you to all the Sisters for your ongoing support of Fifteen Trees and more importantly support for our native habitats. Slainte – Colleen
