TREES PLANTED

Ceramic artists Asha and Keir from Angus & Celeste make the most beautiful jewellery and home wares. Based in Melbourne, these two dynamic and talented people produce their own range as well as manage their on-line store. For every purchase (via the website) Asha and Keir donate $1.00 towards tree planting. This equates to 75 trees every season. In the past, their trees have been planted at Shepparton, Lake Learmonth, Whroo Snodgrass, Inglewood & Axedale, Daylesford, Bendigo and Illabarook.

This time round, their 75 trees were planted at 2 locations in Victoria – The Brisbane Ranges and Scotsburn.

Hi Colleen,

Attached is a photo of some of the plantings (60) this year. It’s a bit hard to get them all in one photo, but this is indicative. Here we’ve planted Manna Gum along a creek bank that is degraded but is next to the Brisbane Ranges National Park. A little way up stream (in the park) there are several remnant Manna Gum. Since the bush fires in ’06 the local koala population has been struggling to re-establish,  we hope these trees will extend their habitat.

Dave Sharp (Scotsburn) writes … The trees (15) from Fifteen Trees were planted within the existing recently planted tree line to fill some gaps. We purchased the property in 2011, with it only having a few scattered old and dead gums on it. Since then we have planted and fenced off 600 trees. The species chosen are all indigenous to the area and will provide habitat and food for a broad range of local native fauna including koalas, possums, bats and numerous bird species. photo1 phot4o              Thank you Asha and Keir for your continued support. To date, you have helped plant 675 trees that would not have otherwise made it into the ground. Slainte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

400 TREES PLANTED

David Cook-Doulton and Martin Shew always thought regional towns of Ballarat and Bendigo had a world-class feel. They could see it in the wide streets, the grand buildings and beautiful botanical gardens. And so two world-class hotels were created – Hotel Vera (Ballarat) and Hotel Ernest (Bendigo). Both hotels link luxury with environmental awareness as part of ‘true luxury, founded upon environmental integrity’.
