Trees to the Hills!

TREES PLANTED

Keir Mac Donald and Asha Cato are designers based in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. From their studio Angus & Celeste, they design and manufacture the most beautiful ceramic jewellery, pots and home-wares. Every year, Asha and Keir generously purchase 300 trees for our community tree planting projects.

This year, their trees travelled a very short distance. From the hills of Dandenong to the hills of Kinglake. They were planted at a farm in Acheron by the Upper Goulburn Landcare Network and 10 corporate volunteers from Melbourne.

With the help of volunteers from ANZ bank and support from Angus and Celeste and Fifteen Trees, we planted 300 indigenous plants in a large conservation area of the farm that has been fenced off from stock and around a dam that is becoming a thriving wetland. We even spotted a long-necked turtle checking out the activity happening around his home. It was a great day and we all sat down and enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by the landowners at the end of what was a very satisfying day. Thank you to Angus and Celeste for purchasing these trees for us to plant. They have been expertly planted and will be very well cared for. Chris Cobern | Landcare Coordinator | Upper Goulburn Landcare Network
Huge thank you to Keir and Asha for their ongoing support of 300 trees every year. We are now at 1800 trees! An Angus and Celeste forest! Check out the Angus and Celeste online store. Here is an example of their gorgeous ceramic wares.

400 TREES PLANTED

David Cook-Doulton and Martin Shew always thought regional towns of Ballarat and Bendigo had a world-class feel. They could see it in the wide streets, the grand buildings and beautiful botanical gardens. And so two world-class hotels were created – Hotel Vera (Ballarat) and Hotel Ernest (Bendigo). Both hotels link luxury with environmental awareness as part of ‘true luxury, founded upon environmental integrity’.
