Angus and Celeste are long time supporters of our tree planting projects. Since 2012, they have been helping us plant trees. And to date, their tree tally stands at over 3,000 trees across Australia.
This September, we planted another 500 trees on their behalf. This brand is adorable! It consists of handmade ceramics with strong themes connected to nature. Located in the hills of Victoria, Angus and Celeste purchase 100 trees every quarter for our community tree planting projects. If you would like to learn more about Asha and Keir, the couple behind the brand, we recently interviewed them and wrote up this article.
The planting site for these particular native trees was at Bamganie, situated to the southeast of Ballarat, VIC. It was here, that long time Landcare member Bernard Gilligan planted 500 native trees on the edge of the Western Victorian Plains. Over time, these trees will provide habitat for the local native wildlife including the koala population that regularly visit as they make their way from Bamganie State Forest to the Brisbane Ranges National Park, as well as the iconic birds of prey (above) that call this district home.
The trees were a mixture of Manna Gum, Yellow Box, Swamp Gum, River Red Gum, Swamp Sheaoak, Blackwood, Crimson Bottlebrush, Swamp Paperbark, River Bottlebrush and Silky Hakea.
Shoutout to Asha, Keir and Bernard, who together are helping to restore a small part of this country back to a time when native plants and wildlife flourished.
