Tree planting on the Marlston Coast, WA.

TREES PLANTED

15 Trees Hi Colleen, we had an excellent day planting trees with our local primary school and G.J. Gardner Homes Bunbury.  We planted all 200 seedlings and afterwards we did a marine debris cleanup of the beach. It was a very successful morning and cheers to you for this great program. Chris Gibbs, Coastal Facilitator. Bunbury, WA G. J. Gardner Homes in South Australia and Western Australia have joined the Fifteen Trees program (15 trees planted for every new home).  This equates to 1300 trees to be planted this winter/spring in WA (Esperance, Bunbury and Perth) and SA (Renmark and Naracoorte). Thank you G.J. Gardner Homes for your generous support for our native environment and our local communities. The first plantings have taken place in Bunbury, where Silvana Garwood and Austin Ietto from the Victoria St office joined with the Grade 4 kids from St Mary’s PS to plant out 200 trees on the Marlston coast. That leaves another 1100 to be planted – stay tuned. Slainte – Colleen

‘Sometimes there are really simple things everyone can do to reduce their carbon footprint. When staying at a hotel, choosing to skip the room cleaning and having a tree planted instead, is one of those things’. Hugo from Hotels for Trees.

‘We’re thrilled to team up with Fifteen Trees in this crucial effort. Koalas are an iconic Australian species, and with increasing threats to their natural environment, it’s never been more important to ensure they have access to suitable habitats.Planting these trees is just the beginning of a broader initiative to safeguard their future’. According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in.
