A sustainable Sydenham Election Campaign.

In December 2021, supporters of Labor MP Natalie Hutchins ran a fundraiser through Fifteen Trees to raise money towards Ms Hutchin’s State Election campaign and to help reduce their carbon footprint. As a result, the funds raised has helped Natalie run as a candidate for Sydenham while demonstrating Labor’s commitment to improving Victorias environment & biodiversity.  This has assisted us in planting 140 trees in the beautiful district of Gippsland, VIC.

Hi Everyone,

Did you know that each state electorate campaign, uses on average approximately 1.43 tonnes of paper? That’s equivalent to about 36 trees!! Even though we use paper from a sustainable forest and recycle, we can still do more.

In light of the upcoming State Election Campaign, I’m committed to help reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with the Andrews Labor Government target of net zero emissions by 2050. Through the purchase of ready to plant trees, you can help raise vital campaign funds and simultaneously make Victoria more environmentally sustainable.

Your support contributes to making Victorian Labor more eco-friendly! The campaign will run until December 5th (6 weeks) and our target is 100 trees.

Thank you for “contree-buting”!!

Natalie Hutchins | Labor MP for Sydenham

The trees (140) were planted at Cloverlea, Baw Baw Shire of Gippsland, near Mt Worth National Park. They were sourced from the local indigenous nursery, Grand Ridge Propagation and consisted of various eucalypts, wattles and native shrubs. These trees will improve the habitat for native wild life such as Lyre birds, Giant earthworms and the native species of the rare Burrowing Crayfish.

Mt Worth Landcare members Fiona and Steve, are aiming to revegetate the steepest of slopes on the property to not only entice local wildlife back but to also stabilise the hill and combat erosion. The planting of trees and shrubs indigenous to the district will ensure the viability of the planting and with the wet, warm weather predicted for this spring, these trees will be soon growing by leaps and bounds.

Thank you to everyone who generously purchased trees for this fundraiser.
