Multi-award-winning ‘masters of construction’, Nicholson Construction, have been a fixture in Ballarat since 1889. In fact, the Nicholson family are the longest continuous members of the Master Builders Association Ballarat. They have been a driving force in establishing and growing the industry in the region. While their list of projects is remarkable – from hospitals to major heritage restorations to retail precincts – their business practices are equally as impressive.

Nicole Howie planted 125 trees on the behalf of Nicholson Construction at Huntly, Northern Bendigo, VIC.

Nicholson Construction prides itself on its commitment to fostering solid relationships with local trades and materials suppliers. It believes that investment in regional connections leads to stronger and more prosperous communities. It also knows that the same principle applies to the environment.

Nicholson Construction was a finalist in the Premier’s Sustainability Awards (2018) for a sustainable Bendigo build. More recently it has partnered with Fifteen Trees to plant trees for construction projects in both Ballarat and Bendigo.

Leigh Creek Catchment Group along with a ‘Work For Victoria’ team planted another 125 trees at Meredith, VIC

This year we have planted 125 trees for each regional city on Nicholson Construction’s behalf. Nicholson Construction also generously purchased tree guards for all trees. We’re proud to partner with a company that walks the talk when it comes to building long-term local connections, both with people and the land they live on. Keep your eyes open for a Nicholson Construction project going up near you, and know that its builders are giving back to the community in more ways than one. Here at Fifteen Trees, we are always happy to have a chat about the best way to incorporate sustainability into your organisation. We can help you to connect with the broader community and reduce some of your company’s environmental impacts. For more information on how we can partner with you, please contact Melinda at <[email protected]>.

‘Nature is not a place to visit, it is a home that we all belong to, so it’s only fitting to give back’. This is a quote we heard a long time ago and it’s something that stuck with us and something we try to live by. Mark and Karyn Pemmelaar.
