Learmonth Community Gardens, Vic.

TREES PLANTED

Dear Colleen,

The Friends of Learmonth are very grateful for the donation by supporters of Fifteen Trees for the 250 native, indigenous plants which we have  planted in our Community Garden to complement the screening by the larger natives.

The Community garden is a community initiative which continues to evolve. The location of the block is at the entrance to Learmonth and so we hope it will become a welcome stop off for tourists passing through. The plan is for half of the block  to be dedicated to a lock up tool shed, orchard, raised garden beds and a hothouse. The second half of the block is to be a public park. The recent plantings will help to provide a much needed wind break and shelter.

We are very grateful for the support from fifteen trees. I have enclosed some photos for you.

Planting day at Learmonth.

The planting at Learmonth was made possible by a number of individuals and companies.

Let me name them …

Charles Taliaferro who lectures on Environmental Ethics at St Olaf College Minnesota, wanted to name his trees (15)  – Environmental Ethics Section A & B,  Arthur, Ms. Bu, Ms. Vang, President Courchaine, Mr. Kaul, Becca, Bryan, Fedro, Collin, Liz, Shafi, Ms. Arnold and Thought Experiments.

Gorgeous niece Pip Quon from Partycles Party & Balloon Supplies has generously chipped in (45 trees), Jamie Benaud from Australian Images Photography  has reduced his car’s carbon emissions (15 trees), Angela Petruzzi from Livos Australia is reducing her company’s carbon footprint (30 trees), Asha Cato from Angus & Celeste periodically help us plant (75 trees), Maryanne Thompson bought a tree as a gift for her husband Paul Boone (1) and another gorgeous niece Rosa Misitano has also joined in  (15 trees).

Mark Twist from GreenB has bought trees (30), along with Anne Coulson (15). Sabina Crawley has bought trees (2) as a house warming gift for her sister Jane Crawley and her partner Kim Montgomery.  The last lot of trees have come from Nikki and Scott Teller from Bewelded Engineering  (12 trees). A company with a strong sustainable policy.

All up, 250 trees at Learmonth Community Gardens that would not have ‘made it into the ground’ without the generous support of all those amazing people mentioned above. Slainte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
