Team work.
Out in the Kimore and Kinglake districts of Victoria, 500 trees were recently planted on a property damaged by the Black Sunday bushfires. These trees were kindly donated by Steve Cadden from Booran Holden Dandenong and planted by a number of volunteers coordinated by Landcare Victoria. The comments below are from the Fire Recovery Co-ordinator, Chris Cobern. A team of volunteers from NAB put in a great day’s work planting trees for Blaze Aid founders Kevin and Rhonda Butler. Kev and Rhonda have been coordinating the fire and flood recovery program ‘Blaze Aid’ over the last couple of years and it is about time the favour was returned. The group helped to revegetate the steep hills of property. Thank you to Rhonda and Tom (Kev’s righthand man) for putting on a great morning tea and bbq lunch and to Fifteen Trees and supporters for providing the plants. Of course a huge thank you, needs to go to Steven at Booran. To donate 500 trees to the bushfire recovery program is a fabulous way to ensure that his Holden Dealership in Dandenong is working to reduce its carbon footprint and showing leadership in sustainabilty practices.
