Hi Colleen, Please find attached some photographs of the tree planting at Narmbool with LBWR 2016 program day on the 8th July. The purpose of this program day was to learn about community resilience and how we respond when under threat and when the immediate threat is over. Narmbool was the chosen venue for this program day because of our recent involvement in the Scotsburn/Elaine wildfire on 19th December 2015. The group could see firsthand the devastating effect this fire had on not only Narmbool and its staff/ residents, but of the community as a whole. The generous donation of 50 trees played a significant role on the day, as it marked a new beginning in the healing of Narmbool, as the group came together in a great team effort to be part of the process of renewal by planting out along the banks of our Echidna Dam area. Our visiting school groups spend time walking around this area and learning about Biodiversity and the environment. This area was extensively destroyed by the fire and many of our trees and plants were lost, so it was good to spend time with the LBWR group replacing some of what was lost. Kind Regards | Gill | Site Manager NarmboolThank you Sofia for including Fifteen Trees in your sustainable project at Narmbool.
