Tree planting at Ballarat Specialist School

TREES PLANTED

Brian and Maree Harrison from Harrison Funerals have been long time supporters of Fifteen Trees. Brian was keen to contribute to local community groups and came up with the suggestion that through Fifteen Trees, one mature tree is planted on the behalf of families and friends who had lost a loved one. The mature trees planted tend to be exotic species such as Elm, Oak, Liquid Amber and Ash and as such usually go to schools. The trees become part of the gardens and grounds for students, teachers and visitors to enjoy. The generosity of Brian and Maree has allowed Ballarat Specialist School FARM to plant 17 trees this spring. School principal Grahram Cheeseman writes … The photos show the Claret Ashes being planted at the school last month. This recent donation of trees from Harrison Funerals allowed us to plant a tree in each of the paddocks, including our play paddock. Just prior to planting our students had a presentation from Midland Irrigation, on being water wise. The students showed great interest when planting and were very keen to follow up on the watering during our current dry spell. The tree shelters in the paddocks were also built by the students. This was a great project. Thank you Colleen and the Harrisons”. One tree was added to the planting of 17 trees to make it 18 all up. Angelina Clarke wanted a tree planted in memory of her late husband Donald Clarke. Donald died on the 8th June 2013. Slainte – Colleen[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
