As a community kindness, Michael Hall from Halls Funeral Services (Diamond Creek) has helped plant 80 native trees in Flowerdale this spring. This area was devastated during the Black Saturday fires of 2009 but is being regenerated by the generous contributions of companies such as Halls. Michael has had one tree planted on the behalf of each family, who have used his services.

As well as Michael Hall, Chris Cobern (Upper Goulburn Landcare Network) organised the planting day, Stephen and Heather’s Trees (native nursery in Flowerdale) supplied the plants and 8 employees from the ANZ Collins St, Melbourne went out and planted. All in all – a great story of how different groups can come together over a common vision – well done Chris on getting us all organised.
