Lots of trees.
Student from Woady Yalaok.
On Friday 26th July, it was National Tree Day at the Ross Creek Campus of Woady Yaloak Primary School. The school Junior Landcare Group were aiming to plant over 650 plants (trees and grasses) on their school reserve.  They wanted to attract wildlife and to help protect the vulnerable Growling Grass Frog, which lives in their wetland reserve.   [/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]

The Ross Creek students were helped by some older students from Damascus and Loreto. Teachers said that they did a great job at helping the Junior Landcarers.

Students getting some instructions on good tree planting techniques.
The 200 trees planted on the day were very generously paid for by G.J. Gardner Homes Ballarat. Rob McMaster from the Sturt St office has now helped plant 680 trees across 3 locations – Ross Creek and also Buninyong and St Francis Xavier Primary School. A huge thank you to Rob and his team.
