KRX Melbourne is redefining what sustainability in furniture design looks like. While traditional furniture has relied on trees, KRX is making sure their work helps to grow them too – planting one native tree in Australia for every $400 spent. Committed to giving back more than they take, KRX also ensures their products meet the highest environmental standards.

At KRX Melbourne, we believe true sustainability means giving back more than we take. While furniture has traditionally been made from trees, we are making sure that our furniture also grows trees.
Beyond tree planting, our products are GREENGUARD and EPD certified, ensuring healthier spaces and lower environmental impact. We also offer our Oceanic Range fabric, made from 100% recycled polyester with every metre diverting 26 ocean-bound bottles from our oceans. At the end of each year, we provide clients with a certificate summarising their positive impact; the number of trees planted and plastic bottles recycled. This way, our clients can see that together we are not just using resources, but also actively producing and protecting them.Ronak Patel | Founder | KRX Melbourne

Westgate Biodiversity is a community-based organisation growing and selling indigenous plants, and working passionately to transforming Westgate Park into a natural, bush-like place for not only habitat for our wildlife, but also for the people of Melbourne to enjoy. It was here that we planted 62 trees on the behalf of KRX and 2 of their customers – Uni Lodge and Essence Hotel.
A variety of native species of trees and shrubs were planted at the site. Species such as; Acacias (Heath Wattle, Golden Prickly Wattle, Silver Wattle, Lightwood, Coastal Wattle, Black Wattle and Blackwood), Sheoakes (Black, Swamp, Green and Drooping), Saltbushes (Grey and Marsh), Banksias (Coastal and Silver), Correas (White, Smooth and Common) and Eucalyptus (Red River Gum, Yellow Gum, Melbourne White Ironbark, Yellow Box, Swamp Gum, Snow Gum, Narrow-leaf Peppermint and Manna Gum).
More variety in the types of plants being planted, corresponds to a great variety of food sources for our unique native wildlife, as all these species will flower and fruit at different times throughout the year.
