Generic … G.J Gardner supporting the work of Landcare

TREES PLANTED

Ross Morley, Managing Director of G. J. Gardner Homes has been supporting our native environment (through Fifteen Trees) since 2013 and has since helped plant 1000’s of trees across Victoria and Tasmania. Each office in the 2 states plant 15 trees for every new home built. This year, this will add up to over 7,000 trees for schools, landcare and various environmental groups. Di and Brad Stanbrook from G.J Gardner Homes Mildura are huge supporters of local community groups and their tree planting projects. This year, they purchased 615 trees for Sunraysia TAFE (215) and Red Cliffs & District Community Landcare Group (400).

According to Sustainability Victoria, the average Australian lifestyle produces 15,000kg of carbon per year. If that sounds like a lot, it is! Over its lifetime, a tree can collect and store 268kg. This means, we each need to plant 58 trees per year to bring our individual carbon production down to zero. A little tricky for most of us to do in our own backyards, and this is where ‘A Subscription for the Planet’ comes in. (Feature image from Mt Worth Landcare).
