Trees from CERES

TREES PLANTED

CERES (Centre of Education and Research in Environmental Strategies) is an award winning, not-for-profit park located on 4.5 hectares on the Merri Creek in Melbourne. The park offers many services including a food market, nursery, cafe, education programs and guided tours (not only of their centre but OS and outback Australia).   ceres   CERES encourages school groups to chip in to buy a tree to cover the carbon footprint of their visit to the park. Last month, we planted 120 trees on their behalf to cover excursions to the park for Term 2.

With the Westgate Bridge as a backdrop, the Friends of Westgate Park have now planted 4,000 trees supplied by the generous supporters of Fifteen Trees. The group is engaged in a very successful re-vegetation program at the park. As these trees grow, the biodiversity of the area is improving. It is becoming a popular place for people and for the birds and animals that choose to make the park their home. Of these 4,000 trees, 120 generously came from CERES.

Planting trees   Big thank you to Shane French at CERES who initiated the partnership between the two organisations.
