TREES PLANTED

Another successful linux conference (open source software) was held in Geelong earlier this year and to reduce the carbon footprint of the event, conference organizer Sae-Ra Germaine gave attendees the option to ‘tick’ a box (upon registering) to buy a tree for Landcare.

One hundred and twenty-three people decided to take up this option and as a result, 123 trees were planted earlier this month at the Bellarine Peninsula near Geelong.   Bellarine   Matt Crawley and his team from the Bellarine Catchment Network were delighted to receive 123 trees for their railway re-vegetation project and extends his thanks to the attendees who kicked in $5.00 to have a tree planted on their behalf.   Thank you Matt for finding a home for our trees and to Sae-Ra for having the foresight to realise that people generally do want to live a more sustainable life. Thank you for giving them that choice.   Slainte – Colleen

‘Nature is not a place to visit, it is a home that we all belong to, so it’s only fitting to give back’. This is a quote we heard a long time ago and it’s something that stuck with us and something we try to live by. Mark and Karyn Pemmelaar.
